After nearly 5 years of
owning an A70 Supra I had decided to call it quits and update to the
current model Supra - The JZA80. It was a spur of the moment thing,
after doing the sums of how much I'd have to spend on my old JZA70
to get the car where I would have been happy it just seemed crazy
and the logical thing to do was to sell it and purchase a JZA80. My
old Supra can be found here >

I came across a
handful of JZA80's, with most having basic mods like exhaust, air
filter and in some cases intercooler. 1 thing I did notice is they
all had some form of body kit or appears to have higher mileage than
what the odometer showed (like excessively worn steering wheel,
sides of the drivers seat and gear knob.
I find the JZA80 Supra looks best just how Mr Toyota
meant it to be - stock, no side skirts, no fancy front or rear bars,
no chromies, and the stock wing.
So I continued my
search and came across an ad in the Trading post. I contacted the
owner only to find out the car was auto which was a disappointment
however he offered to email some pictures of which I
accepted. The car was white, with a TRD strut brace and horrible 18"
rims being the only modifications, I was impressed. It turned out he
is the first Australian owner of the car.
I arranged an
inspection of the car which was performed and came out almost
flawless - a ding in 1 of the rims, a scuff in the middle of the
drivers side door and the top radiator hose was
supposedly swollen - which turns out it's fine it's just hanging a
little low like they all seem to do once they've got some km's on
them. |
