| The Toyota
Supra JZA80 was released in mid 1993 and was fitted with the second
generation of the JZ engine series, the 2JZ which was offered in both
normally aspirated configured (2JZ-GE) and turbocharged
configuration (2JZ-GTE). The Japanese domestic
model was rated at 206kw, whilst the Export model (U.S & Europe) was rated
at 238kw.
It is to be noted that during
production of the Japanese domestic model that by Japanese
law, or more so 'The Gentleman's agreement', all Japanese cars are
limited to 206kw on paper. This has since changed however this was
after the JZA80 Supra was discontinued.
